RICKY ELLIOTT CLAIMS FIRST OF LATE MODEL TWIN 20′S

It was Twin 20’s for the Super Late Models on Sysco Eastern Maryland Night. In qualifying, Ricky Elliott served notice by winning the first heat going away. Staci Warrington looked strong in winning the second heat.

Donald Lingo, Jr. led in the early laps of the first 20 lap feature with Elliott challenging from the drop of the green. The yellow was out on the first lap when Richard Jarvis, Jr. got together with another car and spun. Elliott kept the pressure on Lingo, Jr. and took the lead just before the halfway point.

The final yellow would come out with five to go when Kevin Scott, Jr. came to a stop. Lingo, Jr. made one final challenge on the restart but Elliott held off the bid and went on to his third win of the season. Lingo, Jr. finished in second with Kerry King running the entire race in third. Fourth went to David Hill and Staci Warrington rounded out the top five.

“We got a good starting spot and that helped a lot tonight,” said Elliott. “Donald was good. We got together and almost spun so I moved to the top and the top was good.”
