By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – Long-time fan and supporter of racing on Delmarva, Carolyn “Blondie” Parsons is doing her part to support racing at the Delaware International Speedway while promoting breast cancer awareness. Parsons has a personal vestment in this project in that she is a 13 year and 10 month survivor of breast cancer.
October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” and at the two day Delaware State Dirt Track Championships on Friday night October 18th and Saturday night October 19th Parsons will be offering bonus money to racers in all divisions.
“I will pay an extra $25.00 to the person crossing the finish line first, win or lose, if they have a Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon displayed on their race car. The ribbon must be large enough for the score keepers to see to qualify”, said Parsons. “Good luck and safe racing”. The bonus will be paid in all eleven championship events including the Slide for 5.
If Ribbons are needed please contact Chad Cathell at Signs By Tomorrow in Salisbury, Maryland (410) 860-0033. He will have 6 inch tall ribbons for sale at pit tower for $5 Friday and Saturday.
