By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE = The Delmarva racing community will pay tribute to one of the all-time greats in sprint car racing this Saturday night with the Kramer Williamson Memorial. It will be the first of two appearances for the URC Sprint Cars this season and they will be joined by the five weekly divisions. Fans are encouraged to wear their “Pink Panther” pink to show their support..
Williamson was a three time URC Sprint car champion, a track champion at several tracks including Williams Grove Speedway, a Taylor & Messick Delaware State Sprint Car Series champion and a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame. His last victory with the URC came at Delaware International in 2011.
Kramer was known for his sense of humor and friendly demeanor and was a fan favorite any time the URC Sprints were at the track. His “Pink Panther”No. 73 sprinter was the most recognizable car in the field and was always a threat to win. Come out and show your support for the Williamson family and the memory Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 7 p.m.
