McCreadie By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE = Almost three inches a rain fell on the new clay surface forcing for the second week in a row the cancellation of Saturday night’s racing at the Delaware International Speedway. Some changes and adjustments have already been made due to the weather.

The 20 lap Mod Lite Fall Championship qualifier scheduled for last Saturday night has been added to the Sept. 13 race program. This Saturday night, August 9th, has been adjusted and now will feature a 30 lap Fall Championship qualifier for the NAPA Big Block Modified division plus weekly divisions and the Vintage Stock Cars. The Little Lincoln cars scheduled for Saturday have been added to the Oct. 4th program.

The event everyone has be waiting for is rapidly approaching.  Thursday night, August 14th. The World of Outlaws Late Models will return for the Fulton Bank 50. The $10,000 to win race was rained out in May, but fortunately was able to be rescheduled for the 14th. The Late Models will be joined by the Little Lincoln Vintage Cars on the program. August 16th will feature Twin 20’s for the NAPA Big Block Modifieds plus weekly divisions and the Delmarva Chargers. The Mar Del Watermelon Association will sponsor the program on August 23rd with the five weekly divisions and the “King of Kings” for Super Late Model winners plus the Super Trucks.

August will finish up in a big way on the Saturday night August 30th when R.C. Holloway Company will sponsor the program featuring the second and final appearance of the season of the United Racing Company Sprint Cars plus the five weekly divisions.
