By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (7/29/11) – Andrew Blank of Snow Hill, Md. drove his ’69 Camaro to his first Super Pro win of the season in Friday night’s Summit E.T. Racing Series at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Tim Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md, added another win in Pro with his ’66 Chevelle and James Farmer of Denton, Md. rode increased his win total in Pro Bike. Other winners on the night included: Frank Parks of Denton, Md. in Street; Walter Brooks, Jr. of Secretary, Md. in Bike Trophy; Tyler Powell of Delmar, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Katelyn Muir of Delmar, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.


Andrew Blank faced Salisbury, Md.’s Ben Parks in the Super Pro final. The two had almost identical reaction times but Parks broke out with a 7.966 on a 7.97 dial and Blank got the win. Blank ran a 10.024/132.58 on a 9.99 dial-in. Semi-finalists were Doug Sylvester of Laurel, Del. who lost to Parks and Rex Lilley of Laurel who lost to Blank.


Tim Foskey was paired against Toya Peek of Houston, Del. in the Pro final. Foskey took the double break out win with a 9.628/136.01 on a 9.63 dial while Peek was out by four one-thousandths more with a 9.134/148.73 on a 9.14 dial. Semi-finalists were Buddy Layfield of Snow Hill who lost to Peek and Ben Garnett of Smyrna, Del. who lost to Foskey.


James Farmer rode up against defending point champion, Charles Nock of Greenwood, Del. in the Pro Bike final. Farmer had the better reaction with a .010 light and took the win with a 9.342/137.04 on a 9.30 dial. Nock broke out with a 9.172/140.17 on a 9.21 dial. Semi-finalists were Doug Thomas of Ellendale, Del. who lost to Farmer and Anthony Buckson of Smyrna who lost to Nock.


Dave Peffer of Melfa, Va. had the better reaction but Frank Parks had the better run to win in Street Eliminator. Parks ran an 11.876/110.34 on an 11.86 dial while Peffer was off his dial with an 18.138/74.36 on an 18.06 dial. Walter Brooks, Jr. had the better reaction and defeated Josh Sutcliff to win Bike Trophy. Brooks, Jr. had an 11.785/123.11 on an 11.00 dial and Sutcliff broke out with a 10.999/137.94 on an 11.00 dial.


Tyler Powell stayed at the top of his game in winning the Jr. Dragster 1 final over Brittany Hooper of Hurlock, Md. Powell had the better reaction and took the win with an 8.948/69.75 on an 8.90 dial. Hooper ran a solid 13.059/49.27 on a 13.00 dial.


Katelyn Muir notched another win in Jr. Dragster 2 by defeating Herby Sullivan of Ridgely, Md. Both were dead even at the start but Sullivan was too quick running a 7.965 on a 7.97 dial. Muir took the win with a 7.935/82.10 on a 7.92 dial.


This Friday night will be another Summit E.T. Racing Series event plus High School Eliminator. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with time runs at 4:30 p.m. and eliminations at approximately 8:30 p.m.
