Effective: April 6, 2014 New Street Eliminator Class- (11.50 to 19.99) Cars must conform to the Rules for Div. 1 Bracket Finals. Cars must be street appearing, full fender, grill, hood, working headlights, DOT tires, and functioning mufflers - NO SLICKS or Electronics. All safety equip-ment must meet the NHRA rule book per the ET Racing Section. Hot Rod Trophy Class - For cars, pickups, etc. that meet the NHRA rules for their performance level there will be NO aftermarket electronics allowed, (example: delay boxes, trans brakes, etc.). The use of a high side chip is allowed. Street legal cars may run in this eliminator and must meet the Street Legal Rules per the NHRA rule book. For the 2014 Season there will be a bogie race on the 2nd time run for the following classes: Super Pro, Pro Eliminator, & Street Eliminator (Cost $5.00 will be collected in the lanes) Also for the 2014 Season there will be a Calcutta offered to all classes. Ronnie Bishop of Salisbury, Md. drove his 55 Chevy to the win in Pro and Harvey Powell of Parsonsburg, Md. rode to the openening day win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the day included: Wayne Phippin of Delmar in Street Eliminator; Cornell Maile, Jr. of Milford, Del. In Hot Rod Trophy, Brittany Hooper of Hurlock, Md. In Jr. Dragster 1 and Alex Bradford of Newark, Md. In Jr. Dragster 2. It was a pair of Chevy Nova’s in the Super Pro final with Vernon Russell taking on Brooks Moore of Salisbury, Md. Russell sealed it at the starting line with a .009 reaction light and a run of 10.273/126.44 on a 10.24 dial. Moore ran a 10.595/124.77 on a 10.56. Semi-finalists wer Fuzzy Isdell of Belle Haven, Va. who lost to Russell while Moore had the bye. The Pro final paired Ronnie Bishop against Daryl Beauchanp of Princess Anne, Md. The two were even on the starting line but in the double break out run Bishop was out by less running an 11.868/114.91 on an 11.94 for the win. Beauchamp ran a 10.115/122.39 on a 10.19 dial. Semi=finalists were Bill Bradford of Pittsville, Md who lost to Bishop and Mark Benstorn of Millsoboro, Del. Who lost to Beauchamp. Harvey Powell rode into the Pro Bike f9nal against Eddie Chapman of Pocomoke, Md. Chapman had the better reaction but was off his dial and Powell took the vicory with a 9.649/125.99 on a 9.55 dial. Chapman ran a 9.071/151.48 on an 8.79 dial. Quarter finalist was Roland Powell of Parsonsburg who lost to Harvey Powell. Wayne Phippin won the Street Eliminator final over Ryann Lecates of Salisbury. Lecates broke and Phippin ran an 11.457/111.73 for the in. In the Hot Rod final Cornell Maile, Jr. had a solo pass for the win running a 14.532/95.35 in his ‘90 Mustang GT for the win. The Jr. Dragster 1 final was a sister battle between Brittany and Caitlyn Hooper. Brittany had the advantage at the start with a .013 and took the win with an 8.990/72.30 on an 8.90 dial. Caitlyn ran a 12.927/50.81 on a 12.90 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Alex Bradford paired against Amanda Clem of Hurlock. Clem had the better reaction but Bradford was on his dial for the win with a 7.904/81.52 on a 7.90 dial. Clem had an 8.437/72.45 on an 8.33. E.T.
