W.R. KETTERMAN CELEBRATES EASTER WITH A WIN AT U.S. 13

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (4/8/12) – W.R. Ketterman of Salisbury, Md. got his early season off to a good start as he captured the Super Pro final, Sunday at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Roger Ridgeway, Jr. of Dover, Del. drove to the win in Pro and Will Jensen of Dagsboro, Del. rode to the win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the day included: Brandon Cahill of Salisbury in Street Eliminator; Harvey Powell of Salisbury in Bike Trophy; Brittany Hooper of Hurlock, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Jordan Dill of Ellendale, Del. in Jr. Dragster 2.

The Pro final was a local matchup between W.R. Ketterman in his Racetech dragster and Mike Jones of Salisbury in an Undercover dragster. Ketterman had the better start and drove to the win with a 7.464 E.T. and was off the throttle at 167.37 m.p.h. on a 7.35 dial-in. Jones ran a 7.627/176.19 on a 7.49 dial. Semi-finalists were Veanettea Ennis of Pocomoke, Md. who lost to Ketterman and Bill Groton of Seaford, Del. who lost to Jones.

Roger Ridgeway, Jr. made it two for two in the 2012 season defeating Glen Isom of New Castle, Del. in the Pro final. Ridgeway and Isom were even at the start but Ridgeway won the close run with a 10.453/126.19 on a 10.36 dial. Isom dialed a 10.35 and ran a 10.455/127.11 to finish a close second. Semi-finalists were Tom Mullins, Jr. of Trappe, Md. who lost to Isom and Keith Mayers of Middletown, Del. who lost to Ridgeway.

Will Jensen rode up against Charles Cave, Jr. of Bridgeville, Del. in the Pro Bike final. Jensen had the better reaction time and rode to the win with a 10.895/125.10 on a 10.80 dial. Cave broke out with an 8.759/140.40 on an 8.78 dial. Semi-finalist was D.J. Lockwood of Berlin, Md. who lost to Jensen.

Brandon Cahill had the better reaction and took the win in Street Eliminator over Wayne Phippin of Salisbury. Cahill ran a 10.586/107.95 on a 10.40 dial while Phippin had a red light foul. In Bike Trophy it was two in a row for Harvey Powell who rode to the win over Michael Ross of Salisbury. Powell had a 15.727/74.21 on a 15.72 dial. Ross broke out with a 14.924/76.03 on a 14.93 dial.

Brittany Hooper remained perfect in the Jr. Dragster 1 division taking her third win in a row. Tyler Williams left too early and fouled and Hooper ran an 8.955/73.07 on an 8.90 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Jordan Dill up against Trevor Post of Delmar. It was a heads up start and Dill took the hole shot win with a 7.977/79.74 on a 7.90 dial. Post ran a 7.951/81.92 on a 7.90.

As of Sunday, Jay Bradford, who was seriously injured in a crash last week, continues to improve but remains hospitalized in Christiana Hospital.

This Sunday, April 15th will be the first of the “Bad 8� series along with the Summit E.T. Racing Series point divisions. Gates open at 10 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations at approximately 2:30 p.m.
