MIKE JONES HOLD OFF FRIDAY NIGHT INVADER TO WIN SUPER PRO

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE (6/8/12) – Action moved to Friday nights for the summer and taking the first Friday night Super Pro final was Mike Jones of Salisbury, Md. who defeated invader Mike Yarnall of Kennett Square, Pa. Tim Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md. took the win in Pro while James Farmer of Denton, Md. made it two in a row in Pro Bike. Other winners on the night included: Josh Davis of Seaford, Del. in Street; Michael Ross of Salisbury in Bike Trophy; Tyler Powell of Delmar, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Christian Walston of Crisfield, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

Mike Jones met Mike Yarnell in the Super Pro final. It was a heads-up run as both dragsters dialed 7.58. Jones had the better reaction with a .014 to Yarnell’s .032 and drove to the win with a 7.593/173.51. Yarnell had a 7.643/155.49. Semi-finalists were Frankie Timmons of Bishopville, Md. who lost to Yarnall and Phillip Truitt of Parsonsburg, Md. who lost to Jones.

Tim Foskey faced John Kulaga of Dover, Del. in the Pro final. Foskey had the better start with a .007 reaction light and took the win with a 9.702/128.99 on a 9.67 dial. Kulaga ran an 11.581/113.17 on an 11.57 dial. Semi-finalist was Daryl Beauchamp of Princess Anne, Md. who lost to Foskey.

James Farmer rode up against veteran competitor D.J. Lockwood of Berlin, Md. in the Pro Bike final. Farmer had the better reaction and ran an 8.760/141.57 on an 8.72 dial for the victory. Lockwood had an 8.960/150.93 on an 8.91 dial. Semi-finalists were John Bartkovich of Salisbury who lost to Lockwood and Deltez Davis of Salsibury who lost to Farmer.

Josh Davis had the better reaction and defeated Henry Osowiecki of Mardela Springs, Md. to make it two in a row in the Street final Davis ran a 12.884/92.33 on a 12.86 dial whie Osowiecki broke out with an 11.833/112.58 on an 11.90 dial. In Bike Trophy it was Michael Ross defeating the tough Harvey Powell of Salisbury. Ross ran a 14.993/73.84 on a 14.96 dial while Powell ran a 15.990/72.67 on a 15.87 dial.

Tyler Powell posted another win in Jr. Dragster 1, this time after taking on Anthony Pavone of Seaford. The pair had identical reactions but Powell ran 8.977/72.83 on an 8.93 dial for the win. Pavone broke out with an 8981/72.31 on a 9.00 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2 it was Christian Walston getting his first win of the year over Herby Sullivan of Ridgely, Md. Walston ran a 7.996/76.49 on a 7.90 dial while Sullivan broke out with a 7.997/81.73 on an 8.01 dial.

This Friday night will be another exciting Summit E.T. Point Series event with gates opening at 3:30 p.m., time runs at 4:30 p.m. and eliminations at approximately 8 p.m.
