U.S. 13 DRAGWAY READY FOR 51ST CONSECUTIVE SEASON

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – With a little help from Mother Nature, the U.S 13 Dragway is set to give the green light on its 51st consecutive season. Opening day is scheduled for March 16th with E.T. Braccket Racing for Super Pro, Pro, Pro Bike, Street Elliminator, Jr. Dragster 1 and Jr. Dragster 2. E.T. Bracket Racing will round out March on the 23rd and 30th. Gates open at 10 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations around 2:30 p.m.

 

The U.S. 13 Dragway was honored at the Winter NHRA Northeast Division 1 meeting when the member dragways in the division voted U.S. 13 to once again host the NHRA NED 1 Bracket Finals in 2014. The event will be held Sept. 17th through the 20th.

 

The 2014 Summit E.T. Racing Series begins on April 6th with the first of six “Bad 8� events taking place on April 13th.  Jerry Ketterman’s “Super Bad 8� and Super Bonus Day will be on May 4th and promises to be bigger and “badder� this year. Other “Bad 8� dates include: June 1st; July 4th; and August 1st and Oct. 5th. The Oct. 5th date will also include the Second Annual Jr. Dragster III eliminations for former Jr. Dragster competitors.

 

The William J. & Juanita Cathell Memorial 51st Anniversary Chevy Show, Shine & Drags on Sunday, August 24th and was a record breaker in 2013 and everyone will be looking forward to a repeat this season . The 8th Annual Ford Show will follow on August 31st and will be the final points show of the season. The 422 All Stars also return for that event.

 

The Jr. Dragsters will have a monthly series of “Jr. Shoot Out� events that will feature a run-off between the Jr. 1 and Jr. 2 winners. These events will be on April 27th , May 25th, June  27th and July 25th,  The Jr. Dragster Challenge plus the “King of the Track� will be held on September 28th. The “Foot Brake Nationals� are scheduled for Oct. 12th and the season ending Halloween Shoot Out will be on Oct. 25th and 26th.

 

For Sunday events, gates open at 10 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations at approximately 2 p.m. For Friday events, gates open at 3:30 p.m. with time runs at 4:30 p.m. and eliminations at approximately 8 p.m. To view the complete schedule log on to www.delawareracing.com.
