GLENN REESE ROLLS TO WIN IN SUPER PRO

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – Glenn Reese of New Castle, Del. made the trip to the southern end of the state worth his while as he captured the Super Pro final Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway. Roger Ridgeway, Jr. of Dover, Del. was back on top in Pro and James Farmer of Denton, Md. continued to pile on the wins in Pro Bike. Other winners during the evening were: Paul Bradley of Millsoboro, Del. in Street; Wayne Phippin of Delmar in Hot Rod; Cody Drummond of Laurel, Del. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Jacob Bowie of Greensboro, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

In the Super Pro final it was the open wheeled dragster of Glenn Reese taking on The Chevy S-10 pickup of Billy Brown of Selbyville, Del. Brown left early and fouled and Reese made a full pass for the win with a 7.683/174.55 on a 7.67 dial-in. Semi-finalists were Chad Cathell of Seaford, Del. who lost to Reese and Ben Parks of Salisbury, Md. who lost to Brown.

The Pro final matched Roger Ridgeway, Jr. in his ’78 Mustang against the ’78 Camaro of Vincent Wade of Eden, Md. Wade had the better reaction but Ridgeway, Jr. took the double break-out win with a 9.111/146.89 on a 9.12 dial. Wade was out by more running a 9.755/164.60 on a 9.77 dial. Semi-finalists were Marcus Wongus of Rhodesdale, Md. who lost to Ridgeway, Jr. and Crystal Hudson of Millsboro who lost to Wade.

It didn’t take long for James Farmer to ride back into the Pro Bike final. Farmer faced Morgan Hudson of Berlin, Md. in the final and took the victory with near dead-on 8.701/145.48 on an 8.70 dial. Hudson left early and fouled. Semi-finalist was Anthony Buckson of Smyrna, Del. who lost to Farmer while Hudson had the bye.

It was the battle of the Chevy S-10 trucks in the Street final as Paul Bradley took on Henry Osowiecki of Mardela Springs, Md. Osowiecki had a red light and Bradley went on to the win with a 13.460/84.22. In Hot Rod it was Wayne Phippin in his ’80 Monte Carlo over Hunter Milligan in a ’76 Camaro. Phippin ran an 11.667/114.88 on an 11.64 dial. Milligan left early and fouled.

Cody Drummond was paired with Brittany Hooper of Hurlock, Md. in the Jr. Dragster 1 final. Drummond had the better reaction and took the win with an 8.922/73.01 on an 8.90 dial. Hooper broke out running and 8.896/72.53 on an 8.90 dial. For the third week in a row it was the unstoppable Jacob Bowie paired with Matthew Wilkinson of Salisbury in a rematch of last week. Bowie remained perfect and was quicker at the start taking the win with a 7.968/81.55 on a 7.95 dial. Wilkinson had a 7.931/82.54 on a 7.92 dial.

This Friday night will be another exciting Summit E.T. Racing Series event. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with time runs at 4:30 and eliminations around 8 p.m.1022
