BEN PARKS, TIM FOSKEY, JR. AND CODY DRUMMOND SCORE BACK TO BACK WINS

By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway looked like Déjà vu from last week as with three drivers scoring back to back wins. Ben Parks of Salisbury, Md. drove to his fourth win of the season and his second in a row powering him into the Top Eliminator point lead. Tim Foskey, Jr. of Rhodesdale, Md. recorded his third consecutive win in Pro, padding his point lead in the division and Cody Drummond of Laurel, Del. repeated last week by winning in Jr. Dragster 1, his third of the season. Other winners on the night included: Harvey Powell of Felton, Del. in Pro Bike; defending point champion Gary Stickles of Delmar, Md. in Street; Ed Tull of Willards, Md. in Hot Rod and Tyler Powell of Salisbury in Jr. Dragster 2.

In the Top Eliminator final it was a pair of veterans with Ben Parks in his dragster taking on the ’87 Cavalier of Vic Gordy. Gordy left a tad early with a -.005 light and Parks powered to his fourth win with a .004 reaction light and an 8.000/167.31 on a 7.98 for the win. Semi-finalist was Johnny Ennis who lost to Gordy while Parks had the bye.

Tim Foskey, Jr. faced Robin Lewers in the Pro final. Lewers was too early at the start and fouled and Foskey, Jr. ran a 10.263/129.55 on a 10. 21 dial for the win. Semi-finalists were Andy Davenport who lost to Lewers and Ryan Groton who lost to Foskey, Jr.

Harvey Powell rode his Suzuki into the Pro Bike final against the Kawasaki of Travis Irving. The pair dialed identical 9.00 dial-ins and had identical .015 reaction times but it was Powell getting to the finish line first with a 9.009/139.81. Irving ran a 9.066/138.69. Semi-finalist was Neil Sisco who lost to Irving while Powell had the bye.

Defending Street champion, Gary Stickles picked up his first win of the season defeating Jay Parrott. Parrott had the better reaction but broke out with a 14.708 on a 14.71 dial while Stickles piloted his ’78 Fairmont to the win with a 13.844/96.81 on a 13.83 dial.

Ed Tull in his ’66 Chevelle was back on top in Hot Rod defeating Joe Swartz. Swartz broke out with a 12.374 on a 12.39 dial while Tull had a solid run with a 13.645/97.76 on a 13.63 dial.

Cody Drummond moved into second spot in the Jr. Dragster 1 standings defeating current point leader, Keith Riddle. Both racers were on their dial-ins but Drummond was just a tick quicker at the start and took the win with an 8.905/71.66 on an 8.90 dial. Riddle had an 8.969/71.95 on an 8.96.  In Jr. 2 Tyler Powell picked up his first win of the season defeating Brittany Hooper. Powell had the better reaction and was on his dial with a 7.923/79.84 on a 7.92 dial. Hooper ran a 7.935/80.44 on a 7.90 dial.parks4
