SATURDAY'S GRUDGE EVENT SUCCESSFUL TEAM DRC WIN BIG

"OFF THE TRAILER" for the LIST CARS! (Mark Cathell May30)

As the crowd filled in through out the day, the buzz in the pit area was about who would win the #2 Cash Day Shoot-Out? As the entries came in, first in would be, Jamar Hollingsworth the winner of our 1st Cash Day Shoot-Out, returned to defend his title. Current #5 man on the List, Wes Clifton was the next entry to be added. Adam Adams, the new comer to the List came to play and placed his small block ford turbo powered 280Z on the entry form. Last seasons #9 finisher, with a completely new car, Tommy Lynch through his name in the hat for a shot at Saturdays purse. The last two entries to sign up brought last years #1 Steve Drummond & Eleanor and this years current #1 Mark Cathell & Dubble Wyde to the players table.

These six drivers were called to the lanes and the fans started to make their way to the fences. Charlie and Chad Cathell held a brief drivers meeting, welcoming them to the special Saturday event. As their crews looked on, the drivers began to draw and see who they would face in the first round pairings.

Clifton and Lynch drew each other to be the first pair out. For Lynch it would be the first attempt down the 1/8 mile for his Chevy powered Mustang. As they staged, Clifton jumped out of the gate and Lynch experienced problems from the start giving the win to Clifton.

Next up, Mark Cathell and Adam Adams would roll around the corner. Both of these drivers know each other well and knew this would be a good race. When the tree dropped, Cathell had a slight advantage and by 60' he had about a half car length lead. That was all about to change, as another 50' later and the Beast was in trouble, broke the tires loose and Cathell had to pedal. Adams turbo Z was gaining momentum and pulled past Cathell, "GAPPING" the Beast for the win light!

The final pair would be two fan favorites! The "Blue Ice" vs "Eleanor", Big Block Chevy vs Small Block Ford! For Drummond, it was his first time out for the season going up against the defending Cash Day winner. As the instant green fell, both cars seem to leave on time, by the 330' mark Drummond had only about a fender advantage. As they came to the 660' mark it would be Drummond by about a car length taking the win.

Round two would now place Adams vs Drummond giving Clifton the bye to the finals. For those of you who couldn't make it! Folks this was the BEST List race so far this year. Both drivers were careful in staging. Adams took the starting line advantage and Drummond had work to do. As the cars blasted past the 330', they were side by side and at the finish line.....It was Drummond by only a half a car length! The Champ had come back to make it to the finals and go after the $1800 in cash up for grabs!

The final round would be a heart breaker for Clifton. After both drivers had completed their burn-outs, Clifton was experiences troubles. His crew acknowledge that they were broke and starter Jeff Richardson gave Drummond the signal he would be on a single run. As Eleanor staged, Drummond dropped the throttle and made a very impressive pass to show everyone he means business in 2016. At this point, all we can say is DRC is still the team to beat!

Now our List guys will start to prepare for their next two Wednesday nights. First, June 15 will be time to fill the List! Five spots remain open and we look forward to who makes the List! Then,Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday night June 29th! If you haven't heard, you must live under a rock!

DADDY DAVE vs BOOSTEDGT that's right the Street Outlaws TV Stars will be making their first appearance to Delaware! This event will be off the hooked! Mark your calendars now!
