The LIST ACTION IS HEATING UP IN THE 302NATION
LIST FANS IF YOU MISSED LAST NIGHT YOU MISSED A LOT OF HEADS UP ACTION!!
A good field of cars showed up to fill up the 2016 List! After watching last nights action.....we have some horsepower being made! So, here is your 2016 top List as of June15:
#1 - MARK CATHELL
#2 - JOE UNRUH
#3 - JOHN MILLER
#4 - CHUCK WAYNE
#5 - WES CLIFTON
#6 - VINCENT ODDO
#7 - TOMMY LYNCH
#8 - ADAM ADAMS
#9 - STEVE DRUMMOND
#10 - CHRIS WELCH
With 6 of the 10 spots filled the four racers who showed last night, knew they had made the cut. Now, the fight was on, to grab the highest spot. Our four entries were last season number 1 man, Steve Drummond, number 9 driver Tommy Lynch, new comer Adam Adams and Chris Welch.
As they drew for pairings, Drummond would face Lynch and Admas would take on Welch. First out, Adams vs Welch and man they did not disappoint the crowd! As the tree dropped both cars moved out side by side, Welch did a fantastic pedal job, but the lighten fast Datsun of Adams jumped ahead by about a fender. From that point on, this is how they stayed to the stripe, giving Adams the win.
Next out Drummond vs Lynch, a battle of last seasons #1 and #9. Here's the catch, neither were in last years car. Lynch built a brand new car of the winter months, taking his big block chevy nitrous power plant into a fox body mustang. Drummond mean while, was driving another newly built car, out of Drummond Race Cars, Nova owned by BJ Michie. Both drivers carefully staged, Lynch jumped out of the gate and it seemed Drummond had some mechanical issues. Lynch drove through the 660' to pick up the win.
With Lynch and Adams making great passes, fans were anticipating the next round match up. Let me tell you folks, these two racers didn't let the List fans down. At the drop of the tree, it looked like Lynch had a slight advantage. Pass the 330' mark only a fender separated the two cars. At the stripe it was "Lynch" for the win, only by a fender! NOS Nation picked up another win!
During all of this racing, we had several "Call Outs" turning Wednesday night into what it's meant to be ALL LIST! Our first call out, would be #2 Chuck Wayne vs #1 Mark Cathell. Wayne had taunted Cathell on facebook all week long calling for the "upset of the year."
Cathell wasted no time doing a short burn out and waited for Wayne in the pre-stage. Once both drivers staged, they left side by side but in 40' Cathell applied the power pulled a car length. At that point Cathell was about to give fans something to talk about. At 60' out his Mustang went into a monster wheelie, slamming down hard. As Cathell tried to regain the car, Wayne jumped up beside Cathell making it an all out drag race to the stripe. Cathell got there first by a half car length to pick up the win and stay #1.
Joe Unruh was waiting in the lanes to see who he would face, as he had already called out the loser of that race. Chuck Wayne had no time to waste getting his Camaro ready for another race. Out of the staging lanes Unruh and Wayne came to the line. Unruh in that sharp Chevy II jumped out first, pulling Wayne by a car length. Wayne tried to muscle his way back but the Deuce was to much and Unruh would take over the #2 position. While this race was taking place, John Miller called out the loser of Wayne & Unruh. This made Wayne have to come back and fight for another position.
While Wayne and Miller headed to the staging lanes, guess what fans? Unruh went and called out Cathell for the #1 spot!!
Miller and Wayne staged up their cars and both hit the tree well, leaving door to door. The battled it out all the way to the stripe and it was Miller getting there first for the win! As the lanes were announced they would be closing in 5 minutes, Unruh and Cathell pulled in to lane 4. Lane choice flip went to Cathell and he headed out the right side which had been to him all night. Unruh did his burn out and move into the beams. At the drop of the tree, Cathell jumped out first on Unruh and never looked back to pick up with the win to remain #1 for another week.
Don't forget, our next Wednesday night will be the much anticipated invasion of Daddy Dave and BoostedGT for the hit TV show Street Outlaws! This event is panning out to be one of the largest in the track 53 year history! Get here earlier as the gates will open one hour early at 4pm. From 4-7pm we will have a meet & greet with Dave and Boosted. Also, the 302 boyz will battle it out with the 301 & 410 racers to see who has the baddest street cars in the east!
