MIKE JONES MOVES INTO TOP ET POINT LEAD WITH 2ND. CONSECUTIVE WIN AT U.S. 13

DELMAR, DE – Mike Jones of Salisbury, Md. seems to be on a mission as he won his second consecutive Top ET final Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway. The win catapulted him past Frank Lecates into the point lead. Defending Mod ET point champion extended his point lead in defense of his title with another win in Mod ET and Jimmie Miller of Gambrills, Md. defeated defending Pro Bike champion, James Farmer in the Pro Bike final.

Other winners on the day included: Gary Stickles of Delmar, Md. in Street; Sara Davis of Laurel, Del. in Hot Rod; Keith Riddle of Millsboro in Jr. Dragster 1 and Brett Holston of Felton, Del. in Jr. Dragster 2.

It was two of Salisbury’s best in the all-dragster Top ET final. Jones sealed the deal at the starting line with a .007 reaction light then ran a 7.559/173.98 on a 7.52 dial for the win. Parks broke out running a 7.944/167.56 on a 7.95 dial. Semi-finalist was Chris Wigfall who lost to Jones while Parks had the bye.

Tim Foskey, Jr. in his Mustang met Chad Thurman in his ‘69 Camaro in the Mod ET final. Thurman had a -.002 red light foul and Foskey saw his win light come on and coasted to win with a 21.768/45.35. Semi-finalists were Ben Garnett who lost to Foskey and Jim Williams who lost to Thurman.

Jimmie Miller on his ‘03 Suzuki rode up against James Farmer on his Hayabusa in the Pro Bike final.

Miller had the better reaction and Farmer couldn’t run him down. Miller won with a 9.206/142.04 on a 9.13 dial while Farmer ran an 8.699/146.89 on an 8.64 dial. Semi-finalist was point leader, Harvey Powell who lost to Farmer while Miller had the bye.

Former Street champion, Gary Stickles in his ‘78 Ford Fairmont was back in victory lane after defeating Ronn Carey in the Street final. Stickles was just quick enough off the starting line to edge Carey for the win. Stickles ran a 13.803/92.41 on a 13.78 dial while Carey ran an 11.613/117.87 on an 11.57 dial.

In Hot Rod it was Sara Davis scoring her second straight win with a final round win over Rick Abbott, Jr. Davis had the better start and won with a 12.115/102.59 on a 12.02 dial while Abbott had a 12.049/112.10 on an 11.59 dial.

Keith Riddle stayed in the hunt for the Jr. Dragster 1 point lead with a win over former champion, Nicholas Bowie. Riddle had the better start in the final and won with an 8.031/80.60 on a 7.97 dial. Bowie had an 8.997/72.37 on a 9.01 dial.

In Jr. Dragster 2, Morgan Larkin left too early and fouled and Brett Holston got the win. Holston ran an 8.032/82.23 on an 8.00 dial.

This week it will be a “Saturday Night Special� Summit ET Series and SBRA Race No. 7 plus Cash Day for LIST Cars and Cash Day for Grudge Bikes.Mod ET
