CHRIS BISHOP SCORES FIRST WIN IN TOP ET ON FINAL FRIDAY NIGHT

CHRIS BISHOP SCORES FIRST WIN IN TOP ET FRIDAY NIGHT AT U.S. 13 DRAGWAY

Delmar, DE (8/19/16) – Second generation drag racer, Chris Bishop of Salisbury, Md. scored his first win in Top ET Friday night at the U.S. 13 Dragway. The win didn’t come easy as Bishop faced former champion Bobby Insley in the Top ET final. Daryl Beauchamp of Princess Anne, Md. was back on top in Mod ET and Jason Taylor of Salisbury rode to his first win in Pro Bike. Other winners on the night included: Josh Davis of Seaford, Del. in Street; Sara Davis of Laurel, Del. in Hot Rod; Keith Riddle of Millsboro, Del. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Alexis Truitt of Parsonsburg, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.

It was another all-rear engined dragster final with Chris Bishop taking on Bobby Insley. Insley broke out running a 7.709/173.37 on a 7.72 dial while Bishop was out by less and took the win running a 7.464/180.07 on a 7.72 dial. Semi-finalists were Jamie Russell who lost to Insley and Brooks Moore who lost to Bishop.

It was two of Mod ET’s best as Daryl Beauchamp met Chad Thurman in the final. Thurman was too quick and broke out with a 9.869/133.82 on a 9.87 dial. Beauchamp took the win in his Z28 Camaro running a 9.959/134.58 on a 9.94 dial. Semi-finalist were Jim Williams who lost to Thurman and Roger Ridgeway, Jr. who lost to Beauchamp.

Jason Taylor rode up against Travis Irving in the all-Kawasaki Pro Bike final. Irving left early and fouled and Taylor was on his dial for the win running a 9.508/145.98 on a 9.50 dial. Semi-finalists were Rufus Lawrence who lost to Irving and John Bartkovich who lost to Taylor.

In the Street final it was defending point champion, Josh Davis in his ‘77 AMC Pacer paired with Kody Mariner in his ‘78 Malibu. Davis took the double break-out win with a 12.169/109.21 on a 12.20 dial while Mariner had an 11.437/114.76 on an 11.51 dial.

In Hot Rod Sara Davis made it three in a row over Joe Serio. Davis had a .005 reaction light and was on her dial with a 12.107/111.28 on a 12.10 dial. Serio had a 10.536/121.16 on a 10.44 dial.

Keith Riddle holds the point lead in Jr. Dragster 1 after defeating Zack Shirkey in the final. Riddle had the better reaction and ran a 7.986/81.32 on a 7.96 dial. Shirkey ran a 12.098/53.78 on a 12.06 dial. In Jr. Dragster 2, Hope Clarke had a perfect .000 reaction light but broke out with an 8.658/73.66 on an 8.67 dial. Alexis Truitt took the win with a 7.966/83.20 on a 7.94 dial. With the win Truitt moved into a tie for first with Jacob Bowie in the point standings.

This week racing moves back to Sundays starting with the William J. & Juanita Cathell Memorial 53rd Anniversary Chevy Show, Shine and Drags plus SBRA Race #8 and Cash Day for the List.bishop
