DADDY DAVE VS KYE KELLY HEADLINE THIS YEARS "SHAKEDOWN-N-DTOWN" ROUND 2 EVENT FRIDAY NIGHT JUNE 30TH
(February 10, 2017 Mark Cathell)
Last year, a record crowd witnessed history in the making. On a beautiful Wednesday evening, fans from
across the Mid-Atlantic region came out to meet two of the hottest stars from the hit TV show “Street
Outlaws. Daddy Dave was definitely a crowd favorite, as fans stood in line for hours to meet the Street
Outlaw icon and grab an autograph or selfie. His opponent was no stranger either, as Boosted GT brought
the entire Ford community some excitement as well. Both drivers took several hours to make sure all their loyal fans were greeted and spent a moment getting to know each individually.
On the track, these two drivers would not disappoint the thousands of fans seated, ready to witness for
their first time in Delaware and watch two of the most popular cars of the 405 do battle. On both runs,
Daddy Dave wasted no time showing off the power of his Chevy II Goliath 2.0. From the start, as we say
in racing, the “candles were lit on his big block Chevy nitrous powered machine the entire 1/8 mile.
Boosted GT, knowing he would have his work cut out, launched the small block Ford, turbo powered
machine hard out of the gate, displaying a lot of power, carrying the front wheels out over 80’ in the air.
In a show of unity, on their final pass, both drivers rode back up the track side by side, saluting their fans!
So, how would you ever top an event like this, some may ask? Well, race fans, we believe we have done
just that! Over the winter months, we stayed in contact with Daddy Dave negotiating a return date and
another opponent. With a perfect 2-0 record, this year, the track marketing department went out in search of someone to raise the bar.
If you are a fan of the show, as we certainly are, this next name is no stranger to the game. Kye Kelly was the man who walked on the show a couple years ago to ultimately show he was the fastest street car in the country. Kye Kelly in his famous, “The Shocker, big block Chevy powered Camaro devastated Big Chief from the 405 on many occasions, hauling thousands of dollars back to the “Bayou of Louisiana.
Now there you have it and the stage is set! The “SHAKEDOWN-N-D’TOWN Round 2 will take place on
Friday night, June 30, at the U.S. 13 Dragway in Delmar, DE. Gates will open at 4 pm, with the two races
between Daddy Dave and Kye Kelly to take place at 8 pm & 10 pm. General admission will be $25 and
children 7-13 $10, children 6 and under free admission with a paying adult. For more information, or to
become a sponsor, contact Mark Cathell at the Track Office, 302-846-3911.

take place on this night or the weekend.
