JEREMY BROWN SWEEPS OUTTEN BROS. BIKE BRAWL
By Charlie Brown, DELMAR, DE – Jerremy Brown made the long tow from Stafford, Va. worth his while sweeping the $2500 Outten Bros. Bike Brawl at the US 13 Dragway. Brown first picked up $500 in winning the Pro Bike “Bad 8� then went on to win the $2000 final in Pro Bike. His highly successful day was thanks to the successful event sponsorship of Outten Bros. Furniture.
In other action, Ben Parks of Salisbury, Md. picked up his second win of the young season in Top ET. David Hornsby of Delmar captured the final in Mod ET, Michael Jefferson of Parsonsburg, Md. won the final in Street and Vernon Kirkendown of Smyrna, Del. topped Hot Rod.
The Jr. Dragster Shootout was part of the day’s racing. Cole Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md. won in Jr. Dragster 1 and went on to meet Jr. 2 winner, Brett Holston of Felton, Del. In the Shootout it was Holston over Foskey.
Brown rode up against multi-time Pro Bike champion, James Farmer in the “Bad 8� final. Brown’s .035 reaction light to Farmer’s .043 was the difference as Brown got the win light with an 8.813/148.29 on an 8.80 dial. Farmer ran an 8.642/149.40 on an 8.63 dial. In the Pro Bike final Brown was matched against DJ Lockwood. Lockwood had the better reaction but Brown the better run taking the final with an 8.827/142.81 on an 8.80 dial to Lockwood’s 8.889/149.47 on an 8.83 dial.
The Top ET final paired Ben Parks in his dragster against the ‘79 Camaro of Michael Dilorenzo. Parks had a .006 reaction light and ran a 7.935/167.28 on a 7.91 dial for the win. Dilorenzo broke out with a 9.417/138.88 on a 9.48 dial. Semi-finalists were Ryan Jackson who lost to Parks and Brooks Moore who lost to Dilorenzo.
The Mod ET final was a good one between David Hornsby in his ‘70 Nova and Kody Mariner in his ‘78 Malibu. Mariner had the better reaction but Hornsby had the better run taking the win with a 9.807/135.64 on a 9.78 dial. Mariner ran a 9.883/130.51 on a 9.82 dial. Semi-finalists were Anthony Pavone who lost to Hornsby and Robin Lewers who lost to Mariner.
Michael Jefferson had the better start and went on to win the Street final over Ronn Carey. Jefferson ran an 11.757/110.89 on an 11.70 while Carey had an 11.150/119.76 on an 11.11 dial. Veron Kirkendown had the solo in his ‘04 Mercury to win in Hot Rod.
In the Jr. 1 final, Cole Foskey was paired with Danielle Donze. Donze left too early and fouled and Foskey ran an 11.724/53.76 on an 11.90 for the win. Brett Holston advanced to the Shootout winning Jr. 2 over Vance Usilton. Usilton broke out with a 7.977 on a 7.99 dial and Holston ran a 7.967/82.57 on a 7.91 dial for the win. In the Shootout Holston had the better start and took the win with an 8.005/81.71 on a 7.92 dial. Foskey was too quick running an 11.986/52.13 on a 12.02 dial.
This Sunday will be “Double Up Day� for Mod ET plus Summit Super Series Points. Gates open at 10 a.m. with time runs at 11 a.m. and eliminations around 2:30 p.m.
