US 13 Dragway
TOMMY KETTERMAN ON TOP IN TOP ET SUNDAY AT US 13 DRAGWAY
By Charlie Brown, Delmar, DE – Tommy Ketterman of Salisbury, Md. has been running well this season but on Sunday at the US 13 Dragway he was able to put it all together and take the win in Top ET. Ben Garnett of Smyrna, Del. had his ‘71 Maverick in top form as he captured the Mod ET final for his first win of the season and Deltez Davis of Salisbury rode to his first win of the year in Pro Bike. The “List� racers were on hand and Danny Clarke moved into the number one spot. Other winners on the day included: Michael Jefferson of Parsonsburg, Md. in Street; Urias Shockley of Dover, Del. in Hot Rod; Chase Huber of Queen Anne, Md. in Jr. Dragster 1 and Carter Foskey of Rhodesdale, Md. in Jr. Dragster 2.
Tommy Ketterman in his dragster faced the ‘90 Mustang of Vernon Russell in the Mod ET final. Russell had a -.003 red light foul and Ketterman scored the victory with an 8.237/162.89 on an 8.20 dial. Semi-finalists were Frank Lecates who lost to Ketterman and Phillip Truitt who lost to Russell.
The Top Ten in “The List� were in competition on Sunday. Danny Clark became number one when he defeated Tom Lynch in the finals.
The Mod ET final paired Ben Garnett and Tim Foskey, Jr. in his ‘84 Mustang. Foskey had a -.005 red light foul and Garnett got the win running a 9.087/134.89 on a 9.04 dial. Semi-finalists were Jim Williams who lost to Garnett and Gary Owens who lost to Foskey.
In the Pro Bike final Deltez Davis in his Kawasaki went up against the quick Ski Doo sled of Roland Powell, Jr. Powell left early and fouled and Davis cruised down the quarter-mile with an 18.816/54.95 on an 8.90 dial. Semi-finalists were John Bartkovich who lost to Powell and Keith Trammell who lost to Davis.
Michael Jefferson in his Nova scored another win this time over Ronn Carey in his ‘97 Chevy S-10. Jefferson took the double break out win with an 11.376/117.23 on an 11.38 dial. Carey was out by more with an 11.024/121.65 on an 11.05. In Hot Rod it was Urias Shockley in his ‘10 Dodge over Frank Parks in his ‘73 Mustang. Shockley had the better reaction and took the win with a 15.721/89.96 on a 15.68 dial. Parks was late and ran an 11.325/116.33 on an 11.31 dial.
In the Jr. Dragster 1 final it was Chase Huber over Cole Foskey. Foskey left too early and fouled and Huber ran an 11.934/56.22 on an 11.92 dial. In the Jr. 2 final Carter Foskey took advantage of a red light by Hope Clarke to take the final round win. Foskey ran a 7.989/81.88 on a 7.93 dial.
