BROOKS MOORE WINS TOP ET IN 11TH ANNUAL FAST FORD SUNDAY AT U.S. 13
Delmar, DE – Beautiful show cars, television stars and lightning quick drag cars were all on hand for the 11th Annual Fast Ford Sunday at the U.S. 13 Dragway. In IHRA bracket racing action it was Brooks Moore of Salisbury, Md. winning the Top ET final. Tim Foskey, Jr. of Rhodesdale, Md. drove to the win in Mod ET and Harvey Powell of Laurel, Del. rode to the win in Pro Bike. Other winners included: Buddy Layfield of Salisbury in Street; Sara Davis of Laurel in Hot Rod and Caitlyn Hooper of Hurlock, Md. in Jr. Dragster.
Fans were treated to some heads-up match racing featuring two the stars of TV’s “Street Outlaws� - Kayla Morton and her boyfriend Chris Hamilton, a.k.a. “Boosted GT� plus Tommy Lynch and his Girlfriiend of the 302 Nation.
It was an all-door slammer final in Top ET with Brooks Moore in his ‘67 Camaro facing Horace Willey in his ‘68 Camaro. Moore had the better reaction and drove to the win with a 10.092/132.70 on a 10.06 dial-in. Willey lost it at the starting line running a 9.157/145.02 on a 9.13 dial. Semi-finalists were Louis Pulice who lost to Willey and Daryl Beauchamp who lost to Moore.
Tim Foskey, Jr. in his ‘84 Mustang faced Robin Lewers in her ‘71 GMC in the Mod ET final. Lewers was too quick and broke out with a 12.300/104.61 on a 12.32 dial and Foskey, Jr. got the win running a 10.603/126.13 on a 10.56 dial. Semi-finalists were Roger Ridgeway, Jr. who lost to Lewers and Ryan Groton who lost to Foskey, Jr.
It was a pair of Suzukis in the Pro Bike final with Harvey Powell paired against Rob Morgan. Mogan was the quicker of the two at the start by Powell rode by to take the win. Powell ran an 8.849/138.31 on an 8.83 dial while Morgan had a 9.159/147.49 on a 9.10 dial. Semi-finalists were D.J. Lockwood who lost to Powell and Kenny Webster who lost to Morgan.
The Street final came down to Buddy Layfield in his ‘94 Chevy S-10 and Josh Davis in his ‘77 Pacer. Davis left too early and red lighted and Layfield got the win running a 13.753/96.87 on a 13.71 dial.
In Hot Rod it was Sara Davis in her ‘71 Camaro over Dallas Simpkins in his ‘14 Mustang. Simpkins left early and red lighted and Davis got the win running a 12.363/108.87 on a 12.29 dial.
In Jr. Dragster Caitlyn Hooper took on Carter Foskey. Foskey had a -.001 red light and Hooper was on her game running a 7.935/81.35 on a 7.90 dial for the win.
This Sunday will feature Jerry Ketterman’s Mod ET Bad 8 eliminations along with IHRA ET bracket racing. Gates open at 10 a.m. with time trials at 11 a.m. with eliminations following.
