Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Events!
The COVID-19 pandemic has sent shockwaves through our entire world, shaking up schedules of events from the highest levels of professionals to as far down as a child’s first tee ball game and everything in-between. However, with social distancing measures in place the world is slowly starting to make its way back to how we expected our summer to go with barbecues, state fairs, and you guessed it, Racing! With that sense of normalcy included, we are happy to get back to our previously scheduled events at the US 13 Dragway & Delaware International Speedway. It should be noted that at the time of this article all Social Distancing Guidelines put into place by the State of Delaware for the weekend of 6/6/2020, will continue to be in place until otherwise noted. Those guidelines can be found at the bottom of this article.
On Saturday, June 13th the 2020 Points season will kick off with the highly anticipated IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series! A new series of events that will allow drivers to compete once a month for bigger purses during a 2-Day event. Top ET will pay $3,000 to win and Mod ET will pay $1,000 to win during the Saturday & Sunday events! The series will also serve as the predominant and exclusive dates for the SBRA points series. During these 2 day events gates will open on Saturday at 2 pm, there will be an open time run session from 3-4:30 pm, drivers will then receive 1 guaranteed time run starting at 5 pm, followed by eliminations. Sunday’s schedule will see gates opening at 8 am, with one time run at 9 am, and eliminations to follow. Joining those classes will be the weekly regulars of the Outten Brothers Home Furnishings Pro Bike, Street Eliminator, Hot Rod Trophy, and Junior Dragsters.
As a part of the agreement for opening with the State of Delaware those social distancing measures are still in place as well as, masks must be worn by all spectators at both facilities, fans must socially distance when entering/exit any part of the facility with other spectators, and groups of fans who are not of the same household shall be socially distanced by at least 6 feet in all spectator seating areas. This will be enforced by track officials.
