US 13 Dragway Ready To Kick-Off Exciting 2021 Season

US 13 Dragway Ready To Kick-Off Exciting 2021 Season

After a season unlike any other in 2020, the world of racing is ready to return to a sense of normalcy in 2021. March 7th that normalcy will return with the the start of the 2021 Season. March will see a string of Test and Tunes for all cars on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, with the 28th Test & Tune including an All Run Gamblers race.

April will see the start of the 2021 points series with the first IHRA Summit Super Series race on the 4th of the month. After getting one week of bracket racing under their belts, racers will gear up on the 10th and 11th for the first 2 day show of the year. The wildly popular $3,000* to win Top ET and $1,000* to win Mod ET IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series from 2020 is returning in 2021! Bracket racers will have another chance to compete on the 18th in another IHRA Summit Super Series event before taking a hiatus for a few weeks. We will close out the month on April 24th, (April 25th Rain Date) and it will the No Time and Grudge Racers time to shine with the return of the Get Busy Grudge Fest Test and Tune presented by 410 Grudge Dreams.

A busy month of May will kick off on 2 wheels as the Outten Brothers Home Furnishings Bike Brawl returns for its 7th year, and this year it will become its own day as no other bracket racing will take place except for those on 2 wheels! However, there will still be an opportunity for those not on 2 wheels to participate that day as there will be an open test and tune for all types of cars and bikes during the event. The first Friday Night Test and Tune will kick off on the 7th, and this year we will be mixing things up during the test and tunes. For May 7th we will have a test and tune that allows racers to come test, but only those who run on a Slick or Drag Radial tire, on these nights we will not be allowing those with “hard treaded tires to participate allowing racers an opportunity to have track time with the track in optimal condition. The 302 Nation Cash Days will also be apart of the Test and Tune on the 7th and give the fastest No Time and Grudge racers a chance at glory! As is tradition at US 13 Dragway, we will be closed on May 9th in honor of Mother’s Day. May 12th we will be back with our second test and tune of the year, and this one will be the traditional method that everyone has come to know and love over the years at US 13! A new addition for this night will be the Street Car Showdown class that will give true “street cars a chance to compete in a No Time division. Cars must be registered, tagged, and insured, interior must appear factory and not be gutted, and must included working air conditioning. The IHRA Summit Super Series returns on May 16th giving racers time to get geared up for one of the biggest annual events of the year. May 22nd will be the return of the Infamous “Jerry Ketterman’s Super Bad 8 with $5,000 to win for Top ET and $1,000* to win Mod ET for the IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series! A new format will be used on this day as the only classes competing will be those of Top ET, Mod ET, and Junior Dragsters. May 23rdwe will have the second day of the IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series with Top ET paying $3,000* to win and Mod ET paying $1,000* to win. All of our normal weekly classes will rejoin us on Sunday with the exception of N/T Testing. We will finish out our final Sunday of the spring and summer on May 30th with the IHRA Summit Super Series.

June will kick off with our second open Test and Tune of the season plus the return of the Street Car Showdown on the 2nd of the month. Friday night IHRA Summit Super Series racing gets underway with Friday night events on the 4th, 11th, and 18th of the month. The “Racers Test and Tune with no hard tires and the 302 Nation Cash Days will return for a special Wednesday Night event on June 23rd. We round out the month of June with the IHRA Summit Super Series on June 25th.

July will kick of with a bang as Independence Weekend starts off with the IHRA Summit Super Series on July 2nd and back again on July 9th. The “Open test and tune returns to center stage with the Street Car Showdown on Wednesday July 14th. The wildly popular “Friday Night Flames presented by 410 Grudge Dreams event returns on July 16th (July 18th rain date) and will provide some of the most exciting Grudge and No Time racing of the year. The “Racers test and tune (Slicks and Drag Radials only, no hard tires) will gear back up on Wednesday, July 21st with another edition of the 302 Nation Cash Days. Bracket Racers get another two day getaway with the IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series returning on July 24th and 25th, and as always paying $3,000* to win Top ET, and $1,000 to win Mod ET. Friday Night bracket racing returns to close out the month with the IHRA Summit Super Series on July 30th.

August will keep Friday night racing action rolling as we highlight the IHRA Summit Super Series events on the 6th, 13th, and 20th of the month. The 302 Nation Cash Days and “Racers test and tune (Slicks and Drag Radials only, no hard tires) returns for its final Wednesday night of the summer on August 11th. After finishing up Friday night bracket racing on August 20th, we will turn our attention back to “Sunday’s starting with the weekend of August 28thand 29th. The Raymond E. Townsend III Junior Dragster memorial race will return for its 5th year, and a guaranteed $1,000 to win for the Junior Dragsters will be up for grab that day along with $3,000* for Top ET and $1,000* for Mod ET as part of the 2 day IHRA & SBRA Ultimate Points Series event. On Sunday, August 29th, it’s the 58th Annual William and Juanita J. Cathell Sunday Show, Shine, and Drags Memorial Event, again paying $3,000* to win Top ET and $1,000* to win Mod ET, all weekly classes, and the infamous Car Show.

We kick off what is sure to be a September to remember on the 5th with the final IHRA Summit Super Series points event of the year. The final “Open test and tune and Street Car Showdown of the year will take place on Wednesday, September 8th. The annual Fast Ford show returns to center stage on Sunday, September 12th. By far the biggest addition to the 2021 calendar comes September 17-19 with the FRBR Promotions “Coastal Clash bracket racing event. Huge guaranteed money will be on hand for Top ET, Mod ET, and Junior Dragster competitors. $10,000 to win Top ET, $5,000 to win Mod ET, and $1,000 to win Jr. Dragsters will headline a show that will include many round prizes, giveaways, golf cart races, a racers dinner, and more! The week of September 26th will see the facilities sit idle as we head to Maryland International Raceway for the annual Division 1 IHRA Bracket Finals.

October warms up with the racer and fan favorite “Footbrake Nationalsâ€? returning on Sunday October 3rd. 410 Grudge Dreams returns to wrap up their tour of 2021 US 13 Dragway events with the Shore Showdown on October 9th. Bracket Racers will then turn their attention the SBRA Bracket finals on the weekend of October 17th, and get a break during the weekend of October 24th for the Delaware Dirt Track Championships at the Delaware International Speedway. October will gear down for the final scheduled bracket racing event of the year with the Halloween Shootout on the 30th and 31st, and will see Top ET pay $3,000* to win each day and Mod ET paying $1,000* to win each day to finish out the year.

November will have some mild activity on the schedule, but as we all know that comes with the inevitable “weather dependingâ€? asterisk. An open test and tune along with the “302 Nation Cash Days Finaleâ€? is scheduled for November 7th. The year is scheduled to finish out with another open test and tune and an all run gamblers race on November 14th.

It’s sure to be a busy year in Delmar, but we hope to have everyone join us for each and every event as we look to get back to a normal Full Season in 2021! Currently there are no available options for a 2020 season banquet, and drivers can expect an update on points fund payouts and awards in the coming days. For more information, as always check us out at DelawareRacing.com, or call the office at 302-846-3911. The schedule is now released, the countdown now begins, the season begins in only a few short weeks and we cannot wait to see you then!
